What is a PU Injection Molding Production Line?

High-pressure or low-pressure injection machines, either two-component or multi-component, can be used for molding production. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, depending on the product type and production requirements, the PU injection molding production line comes in various forms such as rotary, oval track, and fixed mold frame. The molding methods include open mold pouring and closed mold injection molding. The PU injection molding machine's mixing head system can be single, double, or multi-head systems.

In general, rotary and oval track production lines are mainly suitable for the industrialized production of batch products, while fixed mold frame production lines are used for heavy molds, larger products, or high batch requirements. Soft and hard polyurethane foam plastic molded products can be produced using open mold pouring. For full-skin molding or enhanced full-skin molding foam plastic products, the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) or Reinforced Reaction Injection Molding (RRIM) methods are commonly used. The number of mixing heads on the PU injection molding machine depends entirely on the product's needs. The multi-mixing head system is mainly used for RIM and RRIM products with fixed mixing heads or for applications like refrigerator insulation layers. The double-mixing head system is mainly used for dual-hardness high-rebound foam products. Depending on the material system, these products may also be produced using single or triple mixing head systems. The single mixing head system is the most common configuration in PU injection molding machines.
