Soft Polyurethane Foam Lamination Machines use molten foam plastic as the adhesive, bonding foam and fabric layers together. These machines are designed to create foam/fabric composite materials using different adhesive application methods, namely scraping and film transfer. Various types of machinery are available based on the adhesive used.
(1) Scraping Bonding Machine
In this method, the adhesive is applied directly to the fabric surface from a slurry tank and spread evenly with a scraper. After the solvent (or water) evaporates, the fabric and foam are pressed together using rollers. Depending on the adhesive, additional heating may be required during or after bonding, as illustrated in Figure 1.

The adhesive forms a continuous layer on the fabric, which may reduce the breathability of the composite material compared to other methods.
(2) Film Transfer Bonding Machine
This method involves evenly applying the adhesive to a silicone rubber conveyor belt or a silicone-treated roller. After the solvent evaporates, a thin adhesive film forms. This film is transferred to the foam sheet, and after further drying, the fabric and foam are bonded together using rollers, as shown in Figure 2. By controlling the film thickness, only the foam skeleton bonds, ensuring the composite maintains good breathability.
