Sponge Slabstock Foaming Machine – Draka-Petzetakis Method Flat-Top Foaming Machine

The edge film lifting method (Draka-Petzetakis method) was commercialized in the 1960s. The key feature of this process is the addition of two film feeding, lifting, and collecting devices inside the side paper (as shown in the diagram). During foaming, the film attached to the side paper is lifted, allowing the foam’s side and center to rise simultaneously, resulting in a flat-top foam block. Since the foam rises at different speeds in various foaming stages, precise control of the film lifting system is required, and the foam achieved is only approximately flat-topped.
